Alamo Rent A Car offer free one way rentals in many locations. One way hires are free of charge between the following locations.

Florida - Free one way rentals within the state of Florida

California - Free one way rentals within the state of California (Excluding Convertibles commencing 01 July 2012 - 31 August. from all San Francisco locations  to all destinations will incur a charge of $350 USD plus tax) 

California to Nevada  and vice versa - Free of charge (excludes convertibles for above dates*)

California to Arizona and vice versa - Free of charge

Arizona to Nevada and vice versa - Free of charge

Free Additional Driver in California

Alamo Rent A Car, in conjunction with usrentacar.co.uk are pleased to offer all of our customers a free additional driver when booking a car within the state of California. The free additional driver will be detailed on your rental voucher.

Alamo Choice Locations

In selected locations Alamo will allow you to select your own rental vehicle from a line of cars in your pre-reserved category of car. For example. If you have reserved a convertible vehicle, all the available convertibles will be lined up together, you just select which one you wish to hire. Debit Cards

Upon collection of your rental vehicle Alamo will usually ask for an imprint of a credit card as security on the vehicle. In the majority of cases you must use a credit card however at Orlando International Airport (excludes Young Drivers) Alamo will accept a debit card for security. Please note that the debit card must be in the name of the lead driver and carry the Visa symbol.

Upon collection of your rental vehicle you may be offered to buy additional products from Alamo. Please note that any additional product is purely optional and does not need to be accepted. If you find that you have purchased an additional product from Alamo upon collection of your vehicle but later decide that you do not want it you just need to contact Alamo (the number will be on your signed agreement) within 24 hours and they will remove the product from your account without charge. Alamo Rent A Car started in 1974 with just four locations in Florida, they were one of the first rental companies to coin the concept of Unlimited Free Mileage. This Immediately allowed them to carve a niche in to the leisure car rental industry, Alamo Rent A Car focused its mission on providing a fun, low-cost, high-value rental experience to family and leisure travelers.

Alamo Rent A Car quickly became one of the country’s largest vacation rental providers with programs to accommodate and encourage leisure travel. To facilitate the increase in leisure travelers, Alamo Rent A Car constructed state-of-the art rental plazas geared to serve hundreds of customers per hour in a modern, ultra-spacious environment. The first rental plaza opened in Tampa, Fla., in 1982, with more following in other major leisure destinations including Orlando, Fla., home of the world’s largest rental facility. In 1985, Alamo Rent A Car introduced a new customized rental agreement the size of an airline ticket, and Instant Alamo Rent A Car, a program that stored a traveler’s individual rental information for instant reference.

On April 19, 1990, Alamo Rent A Car set out to revolutionize collision damage waivers with the introduction of the first-ever price and coverage option for all renters. Alamo Rent A Car created three new consumer-driven optional collision damage waiver products in Florida, named Waiver Savers®, which provided customers with three choices of price and coverage options tailored to their needs.

Alamo Rent A Car’s commitment to the leisure travel market has fostered long-standing partnerships with the airline industry, travel destinations, travel agents and tour operators around the world. In 1998, Alamo Rent A Car launched E-Process 2000, a group of technologically enhanced initiatives for tour operators, including electronic reservation links on the company’s website, voucher-less rental processing and electronic billing.  Alamo Rent A Car rates include

• Unlimited Mileage.
• Loss Damage Waiver (LDW) which is a combination insurance of both Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) and Theft Waiver. As long as you adhere to the rental policy of the supplier you will not be held responsible for the cost of replacement or repair to your hire vehicle.
• Uninsured Motorist Protection (UMP) up to $1m Liability Cover. Offers an Uninsured/Underinsured/Hit-and-Run Motorist Protection (UMP) that provides the renter and family members traveling together in the rented vehicle with up to $1,000,000 of non-stacked coverage for bodily injury sustained while driving the rental car, and caused by another driver who has no insurance, minimal insurance, or is a hit-and-run driver.
• Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI) up to $1m Liability Cover. All drivers included on the rental agreement will not be held liable for third party claims for bodily injury or property damage resulting from an accident.
• Basic Roadside Assistance
• All Taxes and Airport Fees.
